west waterford festival of food
We are sorry to announce the cancellation of the West Waterford Autumn Festival of Food / Féile Bia Iarthar Phort Láirge an Fhomhair
As you may know, we have been hard at work work to create an Autumn version of our beloved West Waterford Festival of Food. And we were just about to launch with plans for small but beautiful, safe events to celebrate all those whose brilliant and beautiful foods make West Waterford so wonderful, were ready to launch.
However, while we wanted to celebrate and support the food producers, growers and makers who are keeping us all going at the moment; the focus of the entire country needs to be on working together to open our schools, and to keep them safely open. We also need to continue to help to keep the most vulnerable sections of our community safe.
With that in mind, and in in the light of the most recent advice from NPHET and the Government, we have regretfully taken the decision to cancel the Autumn festival.
We are so grateful to you for your enthusiasm and support for our plans, and we will continue to be working, in partnership with our team at Food: the Waterford Way, to do all we can to help keep West Waterford’s wonderful food firmly on the map, and on all our tables.
We are also exceptionally grateful to Waterford City and County Council and to the Waterford Leader Partnership for their continued support, as well as to our other sponsors, funders, volunteers, supporters and venue hosts.
Stay safe and stay well,
Love the team at the West Waterford Festival of Food (27/08/2020)

Welcome to West Waterford Festival of Food, which has been running in Dungarvan and West Waterford annually since 2008 and has become synonymous with fabulous food, fantastic family events and most importantly lots of fun!
Over the years the festival has been a showcase of the food of the region, as well as being host to some of our top chefs, fresh flavours, interesting influences and good ideas. This is one festival where there is definitely something for everyone - a full children’s programme, foraging trails, bus tours, cooking demos, dining experiences from high end to very casual plus of course our markets. Taste the best of the county with our local Farmer’s Market on Thursday, our weekly Country Market on Friday, the festival’s quayside market on Saturday with a seafood theme, all culminating in our famed Festival Market on Sunday when over 100 stalls fill the town centre to bring you the best of local and Irish artisan food.
We couldn't get by each year without all the wonderful members of the community who help out before and during the festival, see how you can get involved - it'll be fun, we promise!
Our festival's success owes a huge amount to the overwhelming support of the local community, and to our sponsors and local business as well as schools and organisations.
